At the end of my first year as a member of the panel I am pleased to say there has been a number of positive steps to report. The panel are in the process of designing a series of leaflets, due to be completed in the next few months highlighting the system of the supply of footwear and orthotics in the NHS. 22 08 2008    Channel Five

The programme featuring Mandy Sellars and her life with Proteus Syndrome was aired last night. I was not happy with the inference that Mandy was disappointed with the boots I have made for her, in her live appearance on GMTV the previous morning she commented positively on them with host presenter Eamonn Holmes.  Since filming, Mandy has managed to persuade her hospital to allow me to make her footwear in future after waiting for nearly three years for a replacement pair through the NHS.

04 07 2008    Delivery dates improving

As a result of our decision to stop taking shoe-repairs, we are managing to reduce the time our customers have to wait for their made-to-measure shoes. It would be nice to thin that by the end of the year our delivery dates will be down from 6 months to 4 months on all new orders.

17 04 2008    End of High Street Repairs

Taking in normal shoe-repairs has over the years led to delays in getting orders for new footwear completed.  As from May 1st we are no longer taking in shoe repairs, continuing only to repair shoes we have made.

In the with the rise in costs of materials and services that we rely upon, we are raising our prices on April 1st 2008.
