End of High Street Repairs

Taking shoe-repairs in from the street has over the years led to delays in getting orders for new footwear completed.  As from May 1st we are no longer taking in shoe repairs, continuing only to repair shoes we have made.

Price increases 1st April

In line with the costs of materials and services that we rely on to make your shoes, we are raising our prices from April 1st 2008.  This is the first price rise for two years and although is above the rate of inflation, my new prices still represent good value and will help to guarantee that I can offer this unique service to all.

Television filming

It is hoped that April will see the return of television cameras to the shop, this time to film a very special pair of boot for a customer who has the very rare condition Proteus Syndrome.  Hopefully cameras from both side of the Atlantic will be filming progress with the boots.

Inspecting my work. This view will be remembered by viewers of Granada TV's 'My North West' in March 2006.

The latest photographs are courtesy of Lancashire Magazine who ran a feature in October 2007. The picture shows my pal Stuart and my son James.

Since early 2007 my son James has been working with me, initially repairing shoes but now beginning to get to grips with the intricacies of shoe making.

Part of the process of making shoes, hand-lasting the upper over the last.
Regular visitors will recognise my dog Sam. He's in charge of quality control.

An early picture taken by Saga magazine in 1997.
